Sauk Valley Newspapers
Sauk Valley Newspapers contracted with Key Builders’ design-build construction services to reimagine an old lumber yard and transform it into a state-of-the-art newspaper facility.
Key Builders brought in the right talent for the job, sourcing an architect from Chicago, a structural engineer from Wisconsin, and a process engineer from California, all working together to bring expertise to the client. Custom features for the facility included special handling for the rolls of newspaper, raised flooring to accommodate the running of control wiring underneath, underfloor electrical installation that allowed for the rearranging of cubicle spaces, special lighting for darkroom production, a central skylight to accentuate the front entrance, and large wall graphics.
Testimonial
Ten years later it is still an excellent facility. Visitors are so impressed with the layout, its professional beauty of it, and its simplicity.
